Good morning all,
It's makeover time again, and this time it's a rather dated old tv cabinet which I saved from being thrown out during my recent move.
For those that have followed my blog from the start, you would know that I have been back and forth from Brisbane to the Sunshine coast for the last 18 months...two homes, two jobs.....two worlds!
Well I let go of the house in town back in July and last Tuesday was my last day at the Job in Brisbane which I held for over 9 years....( was quite emotional...)
Anyhow, now I am fulltime up here in our lovely home in the Sunshine coast hinterland, enjoying some "me" time before I take on more hours at work.
So back to makeover time...
I'm loving how this tv cabinet turned out.
Here's how it looked before I got started...
I'm sure you will all agree it's rather ugly...
some of you may or may have had something similar...
ok I think you get the picture!
I chose a colour I've used before Dulux ' Shell Haven' but this time I went half tone instead of quarter (slightly darker).
this was a big piece to paint and took a day and a half to sand, paint, sand, distress and wax.
I just love the end result and think it fits right in to our beachy rumpus room down stairs.
I decided to keep the original hardware as 1. I think it goes quite well with the piece and 2. I was too lazy to find something else!
So there it is...I'm slowly getting through all the little projects I have on the backburner...
I just love bringing old pieces back to life. I've saved money and achieved great satisfaction turning an ugly cabinet into something I really can't stop looking at!
Have a great week everyone...
I'm off to enjoy the rest of this lovely 30 degree morning before work.
